Travel Checklist

Travelling can be a stressful time if you don't plan ahead, especially if you forget something important. To help make your trip as panic free as possible, the Airport Parking Centre team has produced the ultimate travel checklist. Feel free to print out this page and use it as a final checklist before you head off for the airport.
Documents
- Check that your passport and any visas you may require are valid for the duration of your journey.
- Confirm your flight reservations - absolutely essential for many long haul flights.
- Pack your tickets and any information relating to your travel bookings in an easily accessible pocket of your handbag or carry on luggage.
- Make photocopies of all important documents such as your passport, insurance and visas. Pack these separatly from the originals. In addition, you may wish to scan them and upload them to a 'travel vault' so you can access them online.
- Get your currency, credit cards and travellers checks. Also make sure you know your PIN numbers. You can then get more local currency easily in the event of an emergency from one of the thousands of cash points available world wide.
- Contact the Foreign and Commonwealth Office for up to date safety and travel advice regarding your destination or visit their web site at www.fco.gov.uk Tel: 0870 6060290

- Pack your driving license if you require car hire, and ensure it's valid.
Medical
- E111 Form to cover you for free medical treatment in Europe.
- Visit your doctor or local travel clinic to ensure you have all necessary vaccinations for your destination and that any existing ones are up to date.
General Items to Remember
- Travel adapters/plugs for any electrical appliances.
- Suntan lotion.
- First aid kit.
- Insect repellent.
- Guidebook to your destination such as those provided by Rough Guide and Lonely Planet.
- Phrasebook for foreign language destinations.
Hand Luggage - Packing everything you need for the flight.
- Your flight will be far more relaxing, if you pack everything you might need whilst in the air, into your hand luggage.
- Medication.
- Glasses and spare contact lenses.
- Bottled water.
- Magazines, books, games, personal stereo and batteries.
- Small amount of cash for stop offs and arrival.
- Sweets to prevent your ears popping.
- Change of clothes in case your luggage goes missing.
